The plant catalog
Plants are organized by how much care they want. If you're new to houseplants, start in the easy-care section. If you've kept plants alive for a year or more, the statement and rare-cultivar sections are where the interesting stuff is.
Easy-care plants
The plants we recommend for first-time owners, apartments with limited light, and anyone who travels often. These plants tolerate inconsistent watering and survive in a wide range of conditions.
Golden pothos
The classic indestructible houseplant. Trails or climbs. Tolerates low light, irregular watering, and propagates from cuttings within weeks. 4" pot $14, 6" pot $24.
Snake plant
Sculptural, upright, nearly impossible to kill. Tolerates total neglect on watering. Several varieties (laurentii, moonshine, futura). 4" pot $18, 6" pot $32.
ZZ plant
Glossy waxy leaves, slow grower, exceptionally drought-tolerant. The plant you want if you forget about plants for weeks at a time. 4" pot $22, 6" pot $42.
Spider plant
Arching variegated leaves with baby plants on long stems. Tolerates a wide range of conditions and propagates itself. Pet-safe. 4" pot $12.
Heartleaf philodendron
Trailing vine with heart-shaped leaves. Lower-maintenance than pothos but visually similar. Looks great cascading from a shelf. 4" pot $14, 6" pot $24.
Statement floor plants
The larger plants that anchor a room. These need more thought — they're heavier, harder to move once placed, and most appreciate a brighter spot than the beginner picks.
Monstera deliciosa
The famous "Swiss cheese" plant. Fenestrations (the leaf holes) develop on mature plants in good light. Climbs with support. 6" pot $32, 10" pot $85, mature $180+.
Fiddle-leaf fig
Tall, dramatic leaves. Needs bright indirect light and consistency — they're dramatic when they're unhappy. We ship at 3–5 ft height. $95–$220 depending on size.
Bird of paradise
Banana-like paddle leaves. Tropical statement plant; loves bright direct light. We ship at 2–4 ft. Indoor flowering is rare but the foliage alone is dramatic. $75–$280.
Rubber tree
Glossy thick leaves, slow growth into a tall floor plant. Available in green and burgundy varieties. Slightly more tolerant of inconsistent conditions than the fiddle-leaf. $48–$140.
Bird's nest fern
Bright apple-green fronds in a rosette form. Loves humidity and indirect light. Smaller than other "statement" plants but distinctive. 6" pot $32.
Low-light specialists
Apartments with northern exposure, offices with limited windows, hallways and bathrooms. These are the plants that genuinely thrive in less light than most houseplants want.
Peace lily
One of the few flowering houseplants that does well in low light. Dramatic when it droops (recovers within hours of watering — a useful indicator plant). $24–$48.
Cast iron plant
The Victorian standard. Genuinely tolerates very low light and infrequent watering. Slow grower; small plants stay small for years. $32–$68.
Calathea (prayer plant)
Dramatic patterned foliage that folds at night. Several varieties (orbifolia, medallion, lancifolia). Slightly fussy on humidity but worth it. $28–$58.
Cordyline (corn plant)
Tall woody-stemmed plant with arching variegated leaves. Tolerates lower light better than most floor plants. $48–$120.
Rare & uncommon
The varieties we propagate in smaller numbers, or source from trusted growing partners. Often limited stock.
Variegated monstera albo
The white-variegated monstera that became a houseplant phenomenon. Limited propagations available 2–3 times a year. Pricing varies; current waitlist active.
Pink princess philodendron
Climbing philodendron with pink variegation. Care similar to a standard heartleaf philodendron but slower-growing and pricier. 4" pot $85–$160.
Hoya carnosa varieties
Trailing vine plants with thick succulent-like leaves. We carry several variegated and tricolor cultivars. Fragrant flowers in mature plants. $32–$95.
